Which enzymes are responsible for starch, protein and lipid digestion? Which structures generate these enzymes? Where does each type of macromolecule digestion start? Which enzymes are responsible for starch, protein and lipid digestion? Which structures generate these enzymes? Where does each type of macromolecule digestion start?Explanation / Answer
-The enzymes are responsible for digestion of starch is amylase , digestions of proteins by proteases and peptidases enzymes, lipid digestion bylipases , the structures generate these enzymes are1) amyalse from salivary glands and pancreas(pancreatic amylase) and maltase sucrase and lactase, are responsible for starch digestion 2)pepsin is gastric enzymes( from stomach cells called chief cells)and trysinogen, chymotrypsinogen, carboxypeptidases are released from pancrease (pancreatic juice) ,and erepsin from brush border of small intestine. 3)enzymes for lipid digestion is lingual lipase from salivary galnds, and gastric lipase secreted from gastric chief cells from stomach and pancreatic lipase from pancreas. the macromolecule digestion start from a)starch: digestion of these occurs primarly in the mouth and then continued in small intestine with enzymes from pancreas and enzymes from small intestine, b)protein macromolecule digestion starts in stomach,c) lipid macrmolecule digestion starts from mouth.
