Can you Please solve for number 2 and the Conclusion

Bio Imaging Lab Introduction: In this lab, students will go over the different types of bio imaging and come up with different scenarios in which each type would be used Pre-Lab: Explain the following imaging modalities Ultra Sound It is a type of imaging which uses sound waves of high frequency to detect and look for organs and structures inside the body. It is recommended by doctors when looking for problems in heart, liver, kidney, stomach etc. It is used to view the fetus during pregnancy X-Ra X rays are a type of electromagnetic radiation which is used to create images of the inside of body. The results produced are black and white in colour which occur in different shades due to the different levels of absorption of the radiation by different tissues of the body Computed It is also known as CT scan.It is used to produce cross sectional images Tomography (CT) of specific scanned areas using X ray measurements from different angles and combinations which are produced by computer processing. It produces detailed images of the parts of the body Magnetic Resonance It is also known as MRI. It specifically makes use of radiowaves, Imaging (MRI) magnetics to produce detailed images of structures of body. It is a kind of radiology technique. The magnetic field is essentially powerful in this case Fluoroscopy It is a kind of imaging technique. It uses continuous X rays to obain real time moving images of structures. It is used by the doctors so as to see the pumping action of heart or for obtaining images for swallowing Angiography/ Arteriography It is a medical imaging technique which is used for visualising the internal part of blood vessels or the lumen. It is also used to visualise the arteries, veins and blood vessels. Here, guide wires are added, a type of contrast agent is mixed in blood so as to make it visible on x-ray images 2.What are some scenarios that tie into choosing which imaging technique to use?

Explanation / Answer

Ultrasound is used to visualize fetus during prenatal care, detecting pelvic abnormalities, detecting presence of gall and kidney stones. X ray can be used in identifying bone structures, detecting presence of gall and kidney stones, identifilung diseases, bone fractures. CT is used to detect infarction, bone and joint fractures, heart disease, cancer, hemorrhage, bone trauma. MRI is used to confirm the diagnosis of neoplasm, vascular disease, head trauma. Fluoroscopy is used in investing GI tract, performing angiography, orthopedic and urological surgeries, liver biopsy. Angiography is used to detect heart disease such as coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis.

Conclusion: The use of medical imaging techniques transformed healthcare over the years, providing tools for better visualization, accurate diagnosis and identifying proper treatment for a variety of disorders of neurological, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, endocrine, respiratory, loskeletal and immunological systems.
