The bones becomes thinner which makes them more likely to break. Many people lose bone gradually over many years as it is asymptomatic. The condition Osteoporosis is not fully understood, in body normally old bones breaks and rebuilts a process called remodelling. At certain age the process of bone remodelling changes and new bone comes in a slower rate and hence this slowdown leads to a drop in the amount of bone normally body have.When bone loss becomes more severe, a condition occurs called osteoporosis.
Rickets Summary:- Rickets is a skeltal disorder of children caused by deficiency of vitamin D which leads to the softening and weakining of bones. The deficiency of vitamin D in the body makes it difficult to maintain proper calcium and phosphorus levels in bones, which can cause rickets. Rickets softens the growth plates at the ends of child's bones which causes skeletal deformalities example bowed legs and knock knees, thickened ankles and wrists, breastbone projection.The treatment of rickets focuses on increasing the patient's intake of calcium, phosphates, and vitamin D.
