Question
describe how starch is digested and absorbed by the body. a full answer will address physical digestion, chemical digestion, what structures enable digestion, if any enzymes are used what are they, what are the final products of digestion for starch, and how does the body move the final digestion product into the circulatory system. describe how starch is digested and absorbed by the body. a full answer will address physical digestion, chemical digestion, what structures enable digestion, if any enzymes are used what are they, what are the final products of digestion for starch, and how does the body move the final digestion product into the circulatory system. describe how starch is digested and absorbed by the body. a full answer will address physical digestion, chemical digestion, what structures enable digestion, if any enzymes are used what are they, what are the final products of digestion for starch, and how does the body move the final digestion product into the circulatory system.Explanation / Answer
Digestion is the most important function of digestive system and responsible for the building block of human body.
Digestion is of two type one is physical digestion and another is chemical digestion. Physical digestion is nothing but the whatever bolus human eat , later it's breakdown into smaller particle for further process.
Once physical digestion is over , then chemical digestion is started. Chemical digestion is nothing but the breakdown of complex structure into simple molecule e.g. breakdown of starch into glucose and later on glucose is stored as glycogen.
Starch is polysachchride carbohydrates and it's intake is high in diet of human beings.
Starch digestion mainly take place in small intestine and somewhat in saliva by salivary amylase.
PolysachchPolys starch is converted into disachchdisac means simple molecule that is sucrose , maltose and lactose.
Later on this sucrose is covered into glucose by sucrase , maltose into glucose by maltase and lactose into glucose by lactase.
Glucose is monosachchmono and energy source of body later on it is covered to glycogen and stored into the liver of body.
Whenever body is less of energy , it is agained converted to glucose and sended into circulatory system.
