This example shows the regulation of room temperature using a thermostat. Control center Thermostat detects deviation from set point and signals eftectors. Effectors Heater turns off; air conditioner tuns on. Receptors Thermostat in room detects change Stimulus Room temperature rises above sht point EHectors Heater turns on; air conditioner tuns off Response Room emperature returns toward set point Normal room temperature Thermostat set point Reset too low

Explanation / Answer

Receptors: Room temp. returns towards set point.------> Control Center : Thermostat detects delvation from set point and signals effector.--------> Effectors : Heaters turn off , air conditions turned on--------> Effectors : Heaters turned on , air conditioners tuner off.

The Boiler control unit recevies a signal from the thermostat that detects the room temperature is high and the respected unit ( boiler C.U) is turned off.As a result room temperature comes down as the heat in the surrounding is lost. This is labelled as the negative feedback mechanism , this system enables the continuous regulation of variables within a specific range.
