Explanation / Answer
What accounts for the plateau of an AP in cardiac muscle tissue?-
Answer- The plateau is the phase in AP of cardiac muscles. This phase is also called phase 2.
After depolarization, the entry of sodium ions is stopped into the cell at the same time for stabilizing the cell chloride start to enter into the cells to gets repolarization But there is the presence of calcium ions they hold the repolarization for some time and AP gets a plateau instead of direct repolarization. In short presence of calcium are responsible to plateau in AP.
What effect on the EKG pattern might result from damage to the AV node or bundle of His?
Answer- In damage of AV node the EKG cannot be farther proceed. P wave shows the AV node AP if this node is damage then it cant be farther proceed EKG.
All of the muscle cells that come together to form the atria are able to contract in unison and represent a functional
Answer- Increase the power of contraction without increasing the mass of heart muscles.
