1. A Nursing assistant usually performs the following tasks:
(a) Keeps checking on the vital signs of different patients. A regular check is done by the assistant nurse and the reports are recorded for the doctors.
(b) Help a patient with their basic needs. Assistant nurses help patients with eating, bathing and dressing them if the patients are unable to do these tasks themselves.
(c) Keep a close eye on the medical condition of the patient and inform the doctors in case of an emergency.
(d) Assist doctors with different procedures and collect specimens. They also help in equipment setup and cleaning.
(e) Keep the environment clean and serve meals to the patient. Assistant nurses should take care of the personal hygiene of patients.

Non Verbal communication is a type of communication in which there is no use of words. The conversation can take place with different gestures or cues. There are different types of cues possible including a change in voice tone, a physical gesture etc.

Range of Motion can be defined as the measurement of movement of a specific body part or joint. The range of motion of a particular joint depends solely on the flexibility. Flexibility gives us the range of motion around a joint. If a joint has good range of motion it would be able to move in all planes and directions permitted to that joint.

There are mainly three types of ROM
(a) Active ROM - In Active ROM the patient does not require any external help to perform a given exercise. The patient can perform the exercises independently.
(b) Passive ROM - In Passive ROM the patient is completely unable to perform the exercises independently. In that case the caretaker helps the patient to perform ROM exercises.
(c) Active Assisted ROM - In this case the patient cannot completely perform the ROM exercise independently by themselves and requires the assistance of a caretaker.
