do you eed to respond Wisely to these sceflar ioS Scenario 1: Balancing Internal Alignment and External Competitiveness An employee says she received an offer from another employer and is considering accepting the offer. Money is a huge factor. She currently makes $60,000 per year and the offer is for $68,000 per year. The employee says she will decline the offer if you agree to a $5,000 pay increase. What should you consider in this situation to make a responsible decision about how to proceed?
Explanation / Answer
Currently the pay is important for her and she is considering the offer from a different employer because she wants a higher pay and she is ready to decline the offer if her current employer agrees to increase her pay by $5000 per year although she is getting a hike of $8000. Letting an employee go that too to a competitor is a huge loss for the organization so it is better to retain her with a hike and also a promotion is pending so the organization will be retaining her by awarding her a promotion which will increase the salary by $5000 which she desires and this will retain her and make her feel that she is valued as an employee in the organization. This will also convey a positive message to the employees that the organization value them and will retain them if the demand is considerable.
