Alcohol causes lots of problems in the human body. And eating food while drinking can form a protective layer on the surface of digestive system, protecting it from alcohol.

The majority of the nutrient absorption takes place in the duodenum and jejunum. The small intestines are adapted for absorbing nutrients during digestion. It is very long, have large surface area.
