Explanation / Answer
I have experienced an ethical issue within an educational varsity, wherein there is standard scoring set and norm which a professor is expected to adhere to while correcting papers.
Professors are ethically bound by the rules of the university, to be fair and just in all their dealings with the respective students irrespective of any differences.
But, I experienced that one of the professors, engaged in mood based marking, which was actually symptomatic of a bias towards certain students.
2. The issue was of marking incorrectly, the ethical issue was that it was done so based on personal preferences as opposed to grades truly deserved. The professors and his respective module class was involved in the afore mentioned predicament.
3. The ethical theory which would help resolve the above conflict would be the deontological ethical theory, as it is involved with taking into one's obligations and duties as well as role while making a decision.
