D. The basic z score formula for a sample is:
z = (x – ?) / ?
We have a local school test score of 445. The population has a mean (?) of 430 and a standard deviation (?) of 120. Assuming a normal distribution, the z score would be:
z = (x – ?) / ?
= 430 – 445 / 120 = 0.125.
