Explanation / Answer
The world was dominated by male leadership both at home and in the society. Recent rise in the equal rights for men and women have changed the scenario entirely. More women have entered the workforce but not in the leadership roles. The article is about the masculine feminine leadership styles and suggests the need for a more balanced approach. It also suggests ways to achieve them.
In general, employees who work under a woman leadership are more engaging and carry more trust on the leadership. Women leaders are considered to be more honest and ethical. Organizations where women leaders are on the board have higher return on investment than with more male leaders. There is a general conception about effectiveness and likeability which explains the concept of balancing between the genders. According to this concept leaders can be either likable or effective but the best part is to strike a right balance. It suggests that a women is expected to balance their feminine traits with the masculine traits in order to become a successful leader.
I agree with the article because although men managed the society for long, women maintained the home administered the household activities, brought up children etc. Although in recent times women workforce has surpassed men, they are not given enough opportunities as business leaders citing their personal issues such as their maternity period, not able to travel leaving the children, their soft nature etc. This has to change as they have proved themselves in almost all the fields.
I know of a woman boss in one of the companies where my cousin works. The boss is very demanding and at the same time very supportive. The woman boss is also a great mother at home and she never failed to spend time with her kids. She is also part of a voluntary organization that helps the orphans. She also spends time with the employees out of office to support them personally and officially.
