This journal entry will help you recognize how core values support a leadership style and brand. Reflect upon the leadership theories and styles you have studied thus far in the course. Choose three personal, core values that will support your leadership mission and brand, and describe how these values will shape your mission and guide you as a leader. Write a journal entry that describes each value and explains how it will support and guide your leadership. Conclude by explaining the type of leader you will be when you put these values into action.

Leadership Theory- Leadership theory explains the how and why certain people becomes leader. This theory focuses on the characteristics of leaders so that we can understand the behavior of leaders to improve in their abilities in the leadership and different situations. Leadership theories have numerous source of studies. There are many theories in the subject to added in this theory are professional terms and research that are added to the leadership theory.
This theory is commonly categorized in many groups are Great man theory, Trait theory, contingency theory, Situational theory, behavioral theory, management theory and relationship theory.
Great man Theory- Some people born with some necessary internal characteristics like confidence, intelligence and other skills are born to become a leaders. Great man theory is capacity of leadership is inherent. This theory is based on the concept of that leaders are born not made. Leadership theory especially Great man theory was thought of primarily as male quality.
Trait Theory- This theory assume that people inherit certain qualities and traits that make them better to become a good leadership holder. Self courage and confidence are the traits that makes a person a good leader. Their behavioral confidence is the major key for the trait theory.
Contingency theory- Contingent theory focuses on the situation that which theory should adapt at the time of situation according to the environment of the time. According to this theory no leadership style is best in all situation. Good leaders always keeps a balance between the behavioral and needs of the situation. Success depends upon the number of variables including the styles and qualities of leadership.
Situational Theory- This theory tells the leaders to deal best in the situation, in the best course of action. Different styles of leadership may be more appropriate for decision making.
Behavioral Theory- Again this theory is based upon the concept of Great man theory that leaders are born not made. This theory focuses on the actions of the leaders not on the mental qualities and internal state . As per this theory people can become leader by learning and observation.
Participative Theory- This theory appreciates the participation of the person to become leaders and tells that ideal leadership is that who takes input from the other accounts. These leders encourage participation and enhance knowledge.
Management Theory- This theory focuses on the role of supervision, management and group performance. This theory motivates and inspires the people by helping them in the needed situations. This also focuses in the management of the group of members. This includes rewards and punishments.
Relationship Theories- These are the transformation theories between the leaders and followers. These leaders are focuses on the performance of group of people to manage and maintain the balance relation between them.
In Concluding the explanation There are different ways for thinking about the leaderships ranging from focusing on personality traits to great leadership, it is a mixture of many things to become a great leadership.
