First we have to find critical path.

Here activity ABC can be done in parallel. While D must be done after C and E must be done after C.

The critical path is clearly A----D as it will take 12 days. IF we have to crash it by 4 days then the activities need to be done within 8 days.

Now A-- D can be crashed to 8 days. B can be done in 8 days so no point crashing B. While C and E need to be crashed to 8 days.

Hence Activities A, C, D , E need to be crashed fully.

So total cost = 1550.
