the following statement just a reply to pls

What is a cell reference (also called a cell address) and what is the significance of being able to use them in spreadsheet formulas?

A cell reference is the location of a particular %u201Cblock%u201D on an Excel spreadsheet. It is the intersection consisting of a column letter and a row number. The cell in which you are working in is referred to the %u201Cactive cell%u201D and will be highlighted with a solid black order. The significance of being able to use them in spreadsheet formulas is you can pinpoint the needed information (numbers) to enter into your formula.

Would a spreadsheet still be useful if you couldn't use cell references in formulas? Why or why not?

Of course, but you would be limited to what you can do. I%u2019ve used Excel for years but didn%u2019t have a clue how to use it properly. Now I have to catch up to what I am learning in this class and see if I can break my old habits. If I couldn%u2019t reference a particular cell location then I would find myself working harder, longer, and having to recheck my work and find it very difficult to complete my spreadsheet knowing that I have to rely on my math or using basic formulas to compute my figures.

Explanation / Answer

Using cell references in a spreadsheet formula allow for easier use of calculations and formulas. This can be beneficial when having to perform the same calculations for processing data or applying the same formula to groups on information and data.

Spreadsheets are grids of boxes, which are called cells, arranged in vertical columns and horizontal rows. Each column is labelled alphabetically from A to Z and then AA, AB,AC... BA, BB, BC etc. and each row is labelled with a number, starting at 1. Each individual cell obviously occurs where a

It would eliminate a large amount of its usability and reduce it down to only being able to do fixed calculations. A large amount of the power of a spreadsheet is that you can refer to cells rather than values in formulas
