1) What were the key factors behind Google's early success?

2) Do you expect the search business to become more concentrated (i.e., dominated by fewer firms)?

3) Are network effects important in the online search business model?

4) Is search a winner-take-all business?

5) In addition to enhancing its core business, should Google also branch out into new arenas? Which of the following would you recommend: (a) building a full-fledged portal like Yahoo!'s;   (b) targeting Microsoft's desktop software hegemony; and /or (c) becoming an e-commerce intermediary like eBay?

Ans.1. There are the various factors behind Google's early success which are as follows:

A .Coordination : Google is multinational company and having multiple product in the market . It give best performance to their customer so that more and more customers get satisfied . But this is possible only when the employees or team perform together and perform as a team in which coordination among the employees . This coordination comes only when leader perform a task as team member and motivate all the employees..

B. Effective management : To success of any company depends on effective management . Google earlier management strong corporate values . They take ethical decisions and understand the key to success of any organization is their employees beacause employees are great asset of any organization so take care their employees and motivate them so they perform effective and efficiently . This help to Google accomplish their goal within a time frame.

Ans.2. Yes , I expect the search buisness to become more concentrated. Google dominated the search market . This is the monopoly firm. There is no search company equal compatible to Google search engine who give challenges to it. Google still enjoy the giant market share . Because there are few competitors for the Google and the company who is competitors of Google like Facebook , YouTube , LinkedIn etc .but Google has maximum share in the market so still he enjoys monopoly in market.

Ans.3. Yes, network effects important in the online search buisness model . Search engine is work as search tool which give the reliable and valuable information to the users search . Search engine work as a mediator between users and advertisers. This is two way market, give benefits both the party . It helps to give potential customers to buyers who give their advertisement in Google for e.g if someone looking for wedding planner so when it's start a search engine he finds lots of wedding planner contacts but on top He finds that wedding planner contacts who pay Google for advertisements , and numbers of people click on advertisement , Google charges for it so this is the two buisness for online search buisness model .
