Empowerment implies acceptance of all those things we've been talking about in class. It can imply we are willing to admit that we need help (if we are a manager) and that we are willing to give away some of our power to get that help. That takes great self awareness and a willingness to show that seof awareness to others. It can also imply that we're OK with the differences we see between ourself and others we work with -- we're embracing diversity rather than giving it lip service.
Empowerment also implies we are willing to listen, work as a team, brainstorm, provide feedback, mentor or coach. It means we are willing to really communicate with others.
That can be pretty scary.

Empowerment is a positive thing in the business world. It can be scary because in the process of empowerment we might have to sacrifice certain qualities we all share and develop an open mentality towards building a better life and career. The process of empowerment allows us to know more about ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses. A person can decide what he or she needs to do to overcome those weaknesses and achieve success. Empowerment means overcoming the drawback or weaknesses and move forward with confidence. In today's world, it is mandatory to embrace diversity in order to grow where the companies are full of people from different cultural backgrounds. The employees need excellent communication and team building skills in order to excel in their roles. People need to talk to other and share their ideas with others in order to learn more. The world is going digital and people are using latest technologies to communicate efficiently. This clearly shows the importance of communication and sharing ideas in the process of empowerment. The perception of the people should change and they should consider all the above-mentioned activities as a learning approach. This can never have a negative impact on the minds of the people and it can only improve the skills of the people. The companies have various policies and programs that are aimed at empowering the employees. The governments create programs to empower the women of the country and they do this because empowerment can lead to a positive change in the society. So there is nothing to be scared of and the people should open up more to the society in order to learn more.
