Explanation / Answer

1. What was the impact of introducing Start-to-Start lags to the schedule and budget?

The impact of introducing start-to-start lags into the schedule and budget is that it may result in project duration shrinkage but in order to support extra requirements, budget would increase.

2. Which, if any additional personnel assignments, would you choose to complete the project before the January 17th deadline? Explain your choices as well as the reasons for not choosing other options.

There is a need of atleast one extra resource (develeopment, design and/or industrial engineers and Marketing specialist ) in order to achieve project completion on time and to meet the planned schedule. I would choose an extra industrial engineer to meet the project deadline as they are paid comparatively less than others and they already have physically tiring work to do. Other existing resources like design and development enguneers have potential and scope to extend the working hours if the timelines are very tight.

3. How have these changes affected the sensitivity of the network and the critical path?

The critical path refers to all those tasks that directs project schedule towards its deadline. If the critical path is most likely to change then the project schedule is ter,ed as sensitive. Here in this situation critical path will flow smoothly in case of additional resources and it will be insensitive as the project schedule will follow only one critical path.

The new critical path will be :

MARKET ANALYSIS --> PRODUCT DESIGN --> PRODUCT DESIGN SELECTION --> BUILD PROTOTYPES --> MANUFACTURING PROCESS --> FINALIZED PRODUCT DESIGN --> FINAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS --> ORDER PRODUCTION EQUIPMENTS --> CELEBRATE
