Question
Couldnt change the Cell format from "Text" to "General" where we have Alternative row highlighted using Conditional formatting using the formula "=MOD(ROW(A1),2) =0"
I am unable to change the Cell format from "Text" to "General" where we have set the Conditional formatting to highlight the Alternative rows using the formula "=MOD (ROW(A1),2)=0"
or
My requirement is to show the cell content properly as it is instead of showing it as ######'s. In order to maintain the decimal zeros as well like "1.00", we formatted the entire column as "Text" format. The cells which has the content with length greater than 255 characters then it is displayed as ###############'s when it is formatted as Text and it displays the content correctly when it is changed to General format.
The above said scenario is working fine in MS-Excel 2003, 2010 and 2013 both with or without conditional formatting. The conditional formatting is set for coloring alternative rows using the formula "=MOD(ROW(A1),2)=0"
However in MS-Excel 2007 it is not working with conditional formatting on. The conditional formatting is set to color alternative rows so the odd rows which are not colored is working fine, when we change the cell format to General from Text the content which is greater than 255 characters length shows the actual content properly whereas in the even rows which are colored is Not working, even after we changed the cell format from Text to General, still the content which is greater than 255 characters in length shows as multiple ##################'s instead of readable proper string.
Any kind of help is much appreciated!
