Question
How do I delete a watermark my document does not acknowlege is there?
The word 'draft' was inserted as a watermark in the document a month ago. Now we are ready to finalize and cannot remove the word 'draft.' I am able to add and delete new watermarks in the document. But for whatever reason this watermark is permanent.
I have also tried just copying the text to another blank document and the 'draft' watermark copies with the text.
I did notice that the document has a new extension .docm instead of .doc or .docx. There are no micros in this document so I do not know how the extension changed.
Explanation / Answer
#E$ven if you don't think there is a graphic (because you do not see re-size handles or a graphic anchor)... go ahead and follow the instructions... they work. Its simply a matter that MS Word when dealing with headers and graphics do NOT respond as you would necessarily expect.
Watermarks are stored as part of the header in each section and may vary from section to section in Word. Removing watermarks should be easy (use the Remove Watermark function in the watermark drop down list in the Page Layout ribbon. Its not to be. So:
1. Double-click inside each section
