Question
I have a Mac#OSX@10.9 (Mavericks) with Excel mac 2011 (14.3.8) and Excel mac 2008 (12.3.6).
Problem:
After I have make the last UPGRADE (a month ago) is not possible to open documents type "Excel Workbook (.xlsx)" and the following message appears:
"Excel cannot open this file.
The file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file"
By other hand, if I go to "OPEN WITH MICROSOFT EXCEL (12.3.6)" the document open normally.
The documents type Excel#97 - 2004 Workbook (.xls) open normally too.
What can I do to repair the problem? I have the Key and ID, but I do not have a CD.
My Excel mac#2008 is type H&S and the Excel mac 2011 is type H&B, but I never had problems before the last UpGrade.
Explanation / Answer
**Bring your Office@#version up to the current release and then run Disk Utility.app to Repair Permissions on your Primary Drive. Then restart your system and test. Hope this helps. :)
