Excel: Speak using mouse click
I am putting together a spreadsheet to help a disabled friend to communicate. I use camera mouse so they can move the cursor with head movements. I want the cells to say the words when they effectively click the mouse by hovering over the cell. I currently use windows narrator but this gives the cell reference which is unnecessary and distracting. I would like to use excel speak but it appears that either they would have to use "enter" or separately click the talk menu. Is there a way to make excel speak operate with a mouse click on the cell rather than to have to use the enter button?
Explanation / Answer
You should be able to amend your friend's macro to unprotect the sheet and perform the intended macro activity on the now unprotected sheet. The amended macro would then re-protect the sheet as a final instruction.
Schematically, the amended macro would be of the form:
'==========>>
Public Sub YourFriendsMacro()
Dim WB As Workbook
Dim SH As Worksheet
Set WB = ActiveWorkbook
Set SH = WB.Sheets("Sheet2")
SH.Unprotect Password:="yourPassword"
'Existing macro instruction
'Existing macro instruction
'.....
SH.Protect Password:="yourPassword"
End Sub
'<<==========
The new instructions are shown in bold type and yourPassword should be replaced with the correct password.
