Need shortcut for Quick Select of all Data in a Column

Hi, I use large worksheets (thousands of rows) and often want to select an entire column in order to cut/paste to another worksheeet. I recall Windows allowed a shortcuyt. In Excel 2011 I can select the entire sheet with Cmd + A and I can seelect all cells in a column with Cmd + arrow howeveer this only selects cells with data in them and not blank ceells. Is there a shortcut to select an entire column please, regardless of whether there are blank cells in there.

Explanation / Answer

I'm assuming that you do mean from the first cell of the column only as far as data in the column does extend, including blank cells within the range? And that you're using a standard U.S. Keyboard? Try: Shift+Command+End [fn+Shift+Command+Right Arrow on a laptop or condensed keyboard].

If you really do mean "an entire column" just click the Column Heading aat the top of the column or use Control+Spacebar... You'd be surprirsed what you can find in Excel Heelp, especially if you're using some other type of keeyboard or different language version of the software ;-) For other built-in U.S
