Question

How to assign points (numeric value) to a > greater than clause? example: A5 = 364, B5 = 372; the > (higher number) = 5 (pts for fatasy football)

I'm working on designing an automated score sheet for my fantasy football league. I have yet to find a host (Yahoo, CBS, ESPN, etc...) that we can setup to score some of our stats. I have completed all of the standard scoring but I'm having trouble with the versus categories. Below is an example of our scoring. Here is a brief description. The team that has the most of each of the following (Completion %, Passing Yards, Receptions, Receiving Yards and Rushing Yards) is awarded either 3 or 5 points. The team with less receives 0 points. The Defensive points are awarded on a scale depending on the Total Points they allow. Please help......

Thank you

Explanation / Answer

try this for B3

=IF(MAX($A3,$C3)=A3,5,0)

and copy it also to D3

[Edit]

In shorter form:

=(MAX($A3,$C3)=A3)*5
