Excell formatting questions
I need help. Basic help, but a lot of it.
I need to know how to format a basic chart with two sets of values! That's it..!
Unfortunately, it has led to a lot of other problems. I have quite a few formatting questions, but I can't find anything in the forums at all. I really tried looking for help in the forums, but I don't even know what I'm searching for. When I do find something in the forums, I usually don't even understand what's being asked. I can't even find a help feature in Excel 2013! I'm so frustrated. I used to not be such an Excel dummy with 2003, but 2013 is so different and soooo advanced, I can't even do basic things.
Is there some sort of live help to contact for something like this? This is work based, so it's pretty important to me.
Explanation / Answer
Some of the possible formatting items are listed by me below, these may be of some help.
1. Change colour of Graph - Select the graph (e.g. in a bar graph, click on one of the bars, right click and select "Format Data series". Selection option "Fill" and select "Solid Fill" to update color.
2. Change border of graph - use the above method but choose Border Color/Border Styles instead of "Fill".
3. Format series values - Select any value on the graph (X-axis or Y-Axis values as per requirement). Right click ans select "Format Axis". Select "Number" and choose appropriate formatting style for the axis values.
4. Format series Axis Options - use the above method in point 3, and select "Axis Options" instead of Number. You can define minimum /max values for the axis, where to display the tick marks on the axis and where should X and Y Axis intersect.
Hope these would be helpful. In case there is any other specific formatting requirement you are looking for, do mention the same so that we can provide appropriate response.
