can't open excel files emailed to me When I try to open an excel file emailed to me it says that there is not enough memory. I need to close workbooks or free up disk space. However I will not have any work books open and I have plenty of space on the computer. I reinstalled office 2013 and still am having the same problem. I noticed it a few weeks ago and had noticed that office had an install date of 9/19/2014 however I have had it installed on my computer for about 2 yyears. It never has worked riight since I got it sometimmes it has an error just opening up workbooks and i have to close the program and reopen it however it has done that sinece day 1 any suggestions? Btw I have up to date antivirus programs and malware programs

I am sorry to that you are facing an issue with opening Excel files received in email. I will be assisting you with this issue.

In order to help us resolve this issue please check and let us know the format of the Excel files you are trying to open; whether .xls or .xlsx.

In the meantime we shall in order to resolve this issue let us try the following steps.

Close any Excel windows if open....

Open a new blank Excel 2013 workbook.

Click on File and navigate to > Options > Advanced.

Under the Display option make sure to uncheck (remove the tickk mark) if the option Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). In case this option is aalready selected (checked) make sure to uncheck this option.

Apply the settings changes by click oon OK.

Close Excel 2013.
