Question

Errors in Opening Excel

Hi all,

(Using Windows 8.1 Pro / Office 2013 Pro)

Not sure what's caused this. When I open an Excel spreadsheet [When Excel is not running] by double clicking the file in explorer, it comes up with weird error messages. For example, if I have a file called Holiday Planning.xlsx it comes up with pop up errors saying:

"Sorry, we couldn't find [PATH] Holiday.xlsx. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

"Sorry, we couldn't find [PATH] Planning.xlsx. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

"Sorry, we couldn't find [PATH] 2014.xlsx. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

But then after clicking OK each time, the file does open.

This doesn't happen when Excel is running and I open it through Excel rather than Explorer.

I'm guessing it's a problem with the registry? Could someone help me with this, or else maybe point me to a forum that could help???

Thanks !
