You stated that you are unable to discuss such information under the nondisclosure contract signed with your former employer, but you know your response did not satisfy your new coworkers. You fear that the pressure to reaveal information about the plans of your former company is only going to increase over the next few weeks. What do you do?
Explanation / Answer
This situation is about respecting a company's "trade secrets".
By definition a trade secret is, any confidential business information which provides an enterprise a competitive edge. Trade secrets encompass manufacturing or industrial secrets and commercial secrets. These are also punishable by law.
So, I will not be discussing any policy or ideas of my previous company as it will be against the "trade secrets". I shall explain to my current employers that it'll be unethical on my part to share another companies ideas and models to them. I will tell them as a former employee of a company, it is my responsibility to keep their ideas confidential and that if in future I find myself in a similar situation, I would confide in me, their company's information as well.
