QUESTION:
Do you prefer to use the dot operator, EL or usBean? Discuss.

ANSWER:
I definitely prefer EL over the other two. EL is a lot cleaner and easier to follow when reading through the source code. I find it much easier to figure out what is going on without all of the extra clutter required for JSP tags. I also find it a lot simpler to access collections like any other attribute, getting specific indices is easy by just adding square brackets [] after an array attribute, and accessing a value from a map by putting the key value inside square brackets [].

I am fully agree with your answer i.e. to prefer the EL over the dot ( . ) opertaor and usBean

EL or Expression Language in JSP has many implicit objects that are used to get the attributes from different scopes and the square bracket [] operaor is more powerful than dot operator and can be used to get data from a list. I also can't prefer usBean because sometimes it is hard to find it's scope. The scope is about it's session , pages used etc.

So you must prefer EL Operator.
