Explanation / Answer

a) fig 2.a indicates that is a stop amd wait protocol

Explanation:

Rules for sender

1) Send one data packet at a time.

2) Send next packet only after receiving acknowledgement for previous.

so,here in this diagram the sender is sending only one packet at a time and waiting for the acknowledgement from the receiver and when the acknowledgement is reveived it sends the next packet

:

Rules for Receiver

1) Send acknowledgement after receiving and consuming of data packet.
2) After consuming packet acknowledgement need to be sent (Flow Control)

here the receiver after getting the packet, sends the acknowledgement to the sender.

b) fig 2.b indicates it as a Go back N protocol

Explanation:

Go Back N protocol resends the frames from the sender to the receiver whenever the data fails to send to the server and also the sender must not transmit too fast.

c) if ack0,ack1 and ack3 are all lost, the next step at the sender would be sending of the remaining frames from the sender to receiver.

though the sender doesn't get the acknowledgement regarding the sent frames ,it keeps on sending the remaining frames to the receiver
