1 a)
Hardware: Hardware is something that is a part of a computer we can touch .
The two categories of hardware are
1.internal :these are components contained inside the computer case
examples: mother board,keyboard
2. external or peripheral devices:these components are attached to computer through the cables or any wireless technology
examples: wireless mouse,flash drives
The relation between these two is they both serve as the components to run the hardware.
1 b) advantages of file extensions in multimedia development:
Advantages of using file extensions in multimedia
1.it enhances tthe effect of text presentations
2.improves the quality of presentation
3.It will be entertaining and educational as well

Examples:
1.AVI stands for "Audio Video Interleaved". AVI is a video and audio file format used to store audio and/or video information digitally for playback purposes.
2.A DOC file is a word processing document created by Microsoft Word and it also I contain formatted text, images, tables, graphs, charts, page formatting, and print settings.
3.A GIF file is an image file often used for web graphics. It may contain up to 256 indexed colors with a color palette that may be a predefined set of colors or may be adapted to the colors in the image.
2) System bus:A system bus is a single computer bus that connects the major components of a computer system, combining the functions of a data busto carry information, an address bus to determine where it should be sent, and a control bus to determine its operation.
Pipelining: Pipelining is an implementation technique where multiple instructions are overlapped in execution which is divided in stages. Each stage completes a part of an instruction in parallel and are connected one to the next to form a pipe - instructions enter at one end, progress through the stages, and exit at the other end.
Multiprocessing: it means that multiple processes can be executed at once and also one process will not affect the performance of other process
Primary Memory: It is basically a computer's memory that a processor or computer accesses first. It allows a processor to access running execution applications and services that are temporarily stored in a specific memory location which is also called as main memory
