MATLAB EXERCISE In this exercise we will use matlab to model a concert hall and listen to the effects on a music signal. Download hw6 file.zip from D2L. The zip file contains WAV files named twnkl np.wav and concertHall.wav Read the wav file into matlab using the following command (depending on Matlab version): [s fs-wavread ('twnk1 np. wav' );

Explanation / Answer

PLEASE REFER BELOW CODE

close all
clear all
clc

[s fs] = audioread('twnkl_np.wav');

t = 0:1/fs:(length(s)-1)/fs;

%sound(s,fs);

[h_ch fs2] = audioread('concertHall.wav');

%sound(h_ch,fs2)

s_ch = conv(s, h_ch);

%sound(s_ch, fs);

IF YOU WANT TO HEAR SOUND JUST UNCOMMENT THE sound() LINES AND YOU WILL HEAR SOUND.

BELOW ARE OBSERVATIONS:

1) AFTER CONVOLVING WITH CONCERT HALL IMPULSE RESPONSE ALL THE HIGH AMPLITUDE SIGNAL (HIGH INTESITY SIGNAL) ARE NORMALISED

2) THE SOUND OUTPUT IS LOWERED DOWN WITH CRISP AND CLEAR OUTPUT.THIS IS EFFECT OF CONVOLUTION WITH IMPULSE SIGNAL.

3) THE SOUND OUTPUT IS FILTERED AND RESAMPLED TO DESIRED FRACTIONAL DELAY AND CREATED THE CLEAR OUTPUT.
