Q3. (a) Assume an ad-hoc network with Internet sharing between host and client computers is being configured. The Gigabit-Ethernet and Wireless LAN IP addresses of the host computer are 172.19.104.9 and 192.168.1.3 respectively. The Wireless LAN IP address of the client computer is 192.168.1.4 There is a default route in the routing table of the client computer. Determine the followings: (i)) the destination network IP address with netmask; (ii) exit interface IP address; (iii)) gateway IP address. [2 marks] [1 mark) [1 mark] ith the help of a timing diagram, describe the 4-way handshaking process with [5 marks] IFS (Inter-frame Space) between sender and receiver in 802.11

Explanation / Answer

I feel questions were not so clear.

i) For client computer 192.168.1.4,

network address: 192.168.1.0

the net mask is usually, 255.255.255.0

ii) exit interface ip address is same as it’s own address which is 192.168.1.4

iii) Gateway address is the router’s address where other networks and this client network is connected to.

Gateway address: 192.168.1.1
