Some friends of yours are working onan information system project. They are applying an agile methodology. They have decided not to develop a logical data model for their system.
They told you that since they are using agile methodology, it made more sense to devote their time and intelligence to create "physical data model" as they are not going to throw it away soon after they finish it.
Do you agree or disagree with their decision? Explain your position with reasons and examples from your own experience or reading. please answer into way agree and disagree. please no handwriting
Explanation / Answer
Ans.)
Agile Methodology is a combination of iterative and combined incremental process model which focus on process adaptability and customer satisfaction with rapid delivery of the working version of the product. Agile Methods break the product into small incremental builds which are provided in iterations. Physical Data model is the correct choice for Agile Models. Physical data model is used to design the internal schema of a database, depicting the data tables, the data columns of those tables, column constraints, primary key, foreign key, and the relationships between the tables. But, in case of Logical data model, it describes the data in as much detail as possible, without regard to how they will be physical implemented in the database.
Physical Data Models are proved to be useful on Agile projects and as a result I agree to choose Physical Data Model as they are using agile methodology.
