Question

Should You Be Required to Obtain Permission before Posting Photos of Others?

Your friends or followers on social media sites instantly can view photos you post. If others are included in the photo and you post it without their permission, they might feel you have violated their privacy. Tagging people in a photo may create a link to their social media profiles, exposing their identity. Depending on your privacy settings, your friends’ contacts can view a photo you post and/or share the photo without your permission. You can use Facebook’s privacy settings to approve all photos in which you are tagged. The person posting the photo still can upload the photo, but your tag will not appear on the photo until you approve it. Facebook also allows you to report a photo as abusive if you feel it portrays you negatively or if the person who posted it refuses to remove it upon request. People may not want photos of themselves posted for a variety reasons. They may have professional contacts as friends on their social networking site and do not want to show themselves in a personal setting. Others are not concerned with personal photos of themselves being posted but do not want their children’s photos shared online. Or, they simply may find the photo unflattering. Before you post a photo of others or tag people in a posted photo, consider whether they would approve the photo. If you are unsure, consider contacting the other parties before posting the photo.

Is it ever acceptable to post photos of others without permission? Why or why not? Has someone posted or tagged you in a photo that you did not want others to see? How did you handle the situation? If asked to remove a photo or tag, would you respect the person’s feelings and honor the request? What restrictions and policies should social media sites have about posting photos of others?

Explanation / Answer

The Answer for your question is given below step by step :

1. Firstly i will explain about the Is it ever acceptable to post photos of others without permission and Yes, it is true that it will never and ever acceptable to post the photos of others without their permission because it is related to the privacy and some people may like it ans some people may not like it because they dont want their personal information to be visible to the outside world.

2. so the facebook and all cares about the privacy of a user at the first priority so posting of photos of others without their permission will never be accepted.

3. Now the second situation is that if someone posted or tagged me in a photo that I did not want others to see and how I handle this situation is that firstly in my privaxy setting there will be a option like don allow you to tag in the pic that someone posted online i will enable this option first then if the other person tagged me in a pic then i will get the notification that someone tagged me in a pic then Now there will a option provided to me whther to allow that pic post on your timeline or not if i dont like it simply i click no so that the image will be hidden from my timeline.

4. And if i dont enable that option simply i will drop a message to that person that please remove that pic and also the reason about it and if he does not remove that pic then i will simply report that pic as spam then facebook will take care of it.

5. And the third situation is if someone asked to remove a photo or tag then I would respect the person’s feelings and honor the request and simply remove that pic from internet because i dont want to keep their privacy online.

6. the restrictions and policies That social media sites should have about posting photos of others is that without the permission of that it should not allow the user to post the pics of others and also if the other person wont like it then it should provide an option to remove or delete that pic, and also they should have an option about reporting about that pic to the particular social media website.

Hope This Helps, if you have any doubts Please comment i will get back to you, thank you and please thumbs up
