Please help i was put into this class that is required for my majorand I don't know why. All of the non engineering kids arestruggling. I have no idea how to do this could you please helpexplain.

A computer has a bus with a 25 nsec cycle time, during which it canread or write a 32-bit word from memory. The computer uses anUltra-SCSI disk that uses the bus and can provide data at40Mbytes/sec. The CPU normally fetches and executes one 32-bitinstruction every 25 nsec. How much does the disk slow down theCPU?

to fetch and execute a 32 bit instruction it needs 25 ns so for the disk 40 Mb/s it requires= (25/32)*40*106 =31250000 ns so for the computer the cpu runs at 25 nsec cycle time so time = 1/25nsec = 4* 10 7 sec so now the cpu works at 4*107 - 3.125*107sec                                 = 0.875 *107 sec so now cpu runs at( 1/0.875 )*10-7 = 1.142*10-7 sec                                                       =114.2 nsec cycle time so it slows the cpu by 0.875*107 sec.
