Dear, In Stop-and-Wait ARQ, the sender sends aframe and awaits until it receives the acknowledgement from thereceiver. 1) In sliding window protocol, both senderand the receiver maintains sliding windows, with the sequencenumbers. The sender sends a frame and after the receiver receives,it sends the acknowledgement to the sender. The sender sendsanothre frame. This process some what correspond to Stop-and-waitARQ, because in both the protocols the sender awaits until itreceives the acknowledgement. In this way the sliding windowcorresponds to stop-and-wait ARQ. 2) The Major Drawback of Stop-and-Waitprotocol is, it can transmit only one frame at atime.
