a: Saudi Arabia is one of the wealthiest country in MiddleEast and have rich conservation of fossil fuel. It is an industry hub for mining, oil refineries and for manufactruing. Retail segment is prominent and there are many leading local players which has huge market capability in Saudi. Being an orthodox country Walmart required a global + localisation approach to their business in Saudi Arabia. Approach should be focused on the customer requirement, service offering and their unique value proposition through imported product with low cost for the customers.Support from the rulers of Saudi is inevitable and there should be a proper business case to establish the same. Tmings should be flexible based on their customer feasibilities and product segmentation, bay arrnagements should be innovative to attract more customers.Market penetration strategy to be adopted properly by aggressive promotions, customer loyalty programs,tieup with local vendors etc.

b:Business for retail is all about merchandising ( procurement, store and sell at higher margins). Product segmentation and service features are the attractivness of Walmart as a brand. They are well known for their incredible connectivity and man power resource capability. Hiring is very critical and there should be local employees in every team who can manage the customers properly, to address their queries and concerns. Tieup with corporate would be benefecial as there are lot of labor camps across Saudi where Walmart have huge opportunity to deliver their products. Impluse shopping also have potential in Saudi market as their dispposable income is high. Make a proper segmentation of customers based on economy class and target on their needs and taste preference for shoppng.

c: Products should be mix of local attractivness and global level. Imported products will get good reach in Saudi Arabia as they are keen to shop and to know new brands from other countries. At the same time focus should be given to local vendors and their oproducts should be available in the store.

d: Business statement: Establish a strong network in Middle east in the retail segment and make the market more vibrant and attract customers through proper value proposition.
