Explanation / Answer

Then goto "Event" tab in form properties. In the On Open event box ...click on the loadbutton(shown by dots inside a box). Then select Macro Builder. In Macro Builder you will get a box with a green plus sign tothe left. The box has a drop down menu. Open it and selectGoToRecord. In that option in the Record field select New. Now save the whole thing and close it. You will be back to the form properties event tab. Repeat the above procedure for the On Load event.
and you're done.
PS: if you have no button or method of your own for updatingthe database, then in the event tab of the form properties dialogbox, goto On Close event, browse to macro builder and there selectthe macro action : "Save Record" from the drop down menu.this saves your records automatically when you close theform.
