Question

Hi, I made a comment box, but now I need to know how to implement it and use it on my website. So here is the problem. The comment box appears, I can type, but when I click "post", nothing happens. How do I make it post below the comment box?

Code:

<form action="Desktophw.html" method="post">
Comments:<br />
<textarea name="comments" id="comments">
</textarea><br />
<input type="submit" value="Post" />
</form>

Explanation / Answer

"post" doesn't mean "make a post" like a forum but rather sends it to the server for processing and using "post" is just the method you have chosen to send your data. To make a comment box you need to send it to your server for processing. A common way is php, there are others, and you need to make sure that your server supports php (or whatever method you have chosen). This also requires you to be well versed in the language to process the action... or you use one that is readily available online. http://www.quackit.com/html/codes/add_comments_to_website.cfm can explain further and give you some quick and easy code to add a comment to your website.
