Employers are going to expect work production and to motivate and retain employees they will provide wages and benefits. During the recession, employers are going to have a tough time motivating and retaining employees when they are forced to let others go. This causes panic and the employee may feel that there is nothing they can do in their power to increase job security.

Job insecurity strains the relationship between the employee and employer. It has been linked to job performance, job satisfaction, trust, job involvement, organizational commitment and turnover intentions.

Explanation / Answer

Psychological contract- unwritten expecting and obligation there of & in between employer & employee. When obligations get imbalanced the relation result in to burnt.

Explanation 4.- During recession employee develop conscious that they are helpless regarding there job security. During recession each employer wants to curtail expenses, as he wants to minimize working capital investment as no or comparatively less demand for his finish good. Hence developing such conscious is natural and acceptable behavior from employee point of view.

Explanation 5-Job security & job insecurity goes parallel with theory of X & theory of Y .As this theory X propose all favors to employee, as employee are human being and core and active element of system, equally respectable, must be social secured. They should get protection of safety from hazardous & responsibility of not providing good work environment impose on employer. Employee development & training is must for efficient output .

Where theory Y proposes employee are just like other inputs & can be punish & penalties can impose. For all his mistake he himself is responsible and organization has nothing to do with that. Employee must be punish for mistake regardless happen or committed.

Thus where there is imbalance of application of theory X & Y there circus of business benefits to either party say employer or employee . This undue benefits develop stress in another party and employer-employee relation ship result in break or breach of psychological contract. Thus job insecurity develop poor relation in between employer & employee.
