Question

Hello all,

I'm currently starting to plan out code for a black jack (with no GUI) game. I'm fairly new to programming; I don't know a language yet, just basic "Logic and Design" as our book is entitled. However I was curious to any advice on setting up the classes needed. As of right now I plan to create classes for 'Deck', 'Player', 'Dealer', and 'Card'. This is my first application that I've needed to write on my own terms. Usually it's just been an assignment from the book. I'm not really asking for anyone to give me the code. I want to be able to understand what I'm doing so any help would be much appreciated. I will rate. Thank you in advance!

Explanation / Answer

please rate - thanks

'Deck'   - is made up of 52 Card     -self explanatory

Card is made up of suit and value      -self explanatory

Player is made up of

totalNumberOfCards - total number of cards the player has in his hands

                     score    - players score

numberOfAces          -depending on the cards in the hand the value of each ace will be 1 or 11

an array of Card       -will have the cards the player is holding

Dealer is a special case of Player. he can be player 0, so really don't need a class for him

hope this makes sense. if not message me
