Various background choices available are Bluecurve, iKons, slick Icons etc. and different font types are serif, Utopia, Monospace etc.

Font size can be 10, 11 or 12 etc and icon size may be recommended as 45 or 48.

When the backgrounds chosen are dark then the font may not be visible properly. So it reduces the readability. And sometimes the icons may be hidden due to improper selection of the backgrounds. With improper settings the text can be read but with more difficulty.

While choosing the backgrounds and fonts, care must be taken that the font suits the background and has good visibility. Light backgrounds are more preferable and text with medium size and regular will appear good.
