Some non-managerial staff of Local Tech Limited (LTL) are dissatisfied with annual vacation leave entitlement and they may thus request from Management an increase in vacation leave entitlement from 11 standard working days (Monday to Friday) to 15 working days on the grounds of health and the fact that Advance Caribbean Communication (ACC) -- a new company similar to LTL-- is offering its staff 16 straight days (Sunday and Saturday inclusive) vacation. Some members of staff within LTL have complained to an unofficial staff spokesman – Mr. Mark Winder. Mr. Winder has informed his Supervisor, the Accounts Manager and the Human Resource Manager, of staff’s dissatisfaction and he hinted that some members of staff might leave LTL or occasionally call-in sick if they are not granted additional vacation leave. As a member of the management team at LTL (comprising the Accounts Manager, Human Resource Manager, General Manager, In-house Legal Expert) you are aware of some of the undertones, displeasure and dissatisfaction of some of the workers within the company. LTL has limited funds and intends to expand operations within the next year. - Two of LTL’s former employees are now working at ACC and the total staff count at LTL is 120.

From a general manager point of view try to convince the Board in 100 words or less for each reasons:

To grant an increase in vacation leave entitlement

That the present entitlement should remain “as is”

To decrease the entitlement to 10 working days (the minimum required by law

-TO INCREASE VACCATION LEAVE ENTITLMENT-

Increase in vaccation leave of employees will increase satisfaction level of employees if they are dissatisfied with thier job.It will motivate them and enhance thier work life balance.Increase in vaccation will increase energy level of employees and will make them more innovative and engaged towards job,they will be more responsible and accountable for thier job.possitive company culture is very important for an employee.Employees are always attracted to vaccation providing companies ,to retain current employees and to attract other it is important to increase vaccation leave.

PRESENT ENTITLMENT SHOULD REMAIN AS IT IS:-

Because those employees seriously engaged towards their work than holidays and other things will not distract them and they will be happy with thier job.employees are in company for doin job not for taking off .Taking off from work mean you are less responsible towards your work.More you will take off more you will reduce your engagement towards work .To make a link with work and for smooth flow of work present entitlment should be as it is.

TO DECREASE ENTITLEMENT TO 10 WORKING DAYS-No doubt it will create negative image among enployees to decreases present entitlment but still in will increase working days and productivity as well.emplyees should be forced to do work for what company paying them .They will never do work by themselves untill company will push them to do so.Entitlement decrease should not be bigger issue than productivity .productivity increment should be focus of every one.
