Explanation / Answer
What is RTW, what Federal Legislation makes it legal?
RTW or Right to Work empowers an individual/employee to work at any place without the need or forced to join an employee union in order to work safely and freely. This law also states that no union can force employees to join the union and make the employees pay the union dues or security arrangements without the wish of the employee.
The RTW was established by the Taft-Harley Act of 1947 which authorized the states the ability to have RTW.
Why do you think a person is a pro or con RTW?
The pro is as following:
Cons are following:
With two of Ohio's neighboring states becoming RTW, do you think it would be good for Ohio to become an RTW state? Why or why not?
Ohio should also become an RTW state as almost 25 states have already adopted the Right-to-Work law. Sooner or later the employees and workers in the state will start demanding this right and it will be wiser for the state to follow this law to avoid any future conflicts with the employees who may want to get away or leave unions.
