Explanation / Answer

Employee Monitoring Program must take care of all the issues of hazard and exposure that can harm the employees at a nuclear plant. Moreover, hazardous substances and materials create a multitude of health and safety concerns, which can cause serious injury or death.

The employee monitoring program must consist of regularly checking the adherence with the standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. The following steps are suggested to get the program up and running:

Moreover, setting up the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to frequently check the status of the safety guidelines and their compliance within the plant.

The program must be introduced among the employees by leadership team so that all the workforce takes it seriously and starts following it. Once this is done, there has to be employee awareness camps and plans within the plant to educate about health hazards and how to follow safety guidelines to avpid such hazard.

The training and awareness program must consist of real life cases such as Japan’s meltdown of nuclear reactors during Tsunami and what employees must adhere to avoid any disaster.

Employees must be coached that this is in company’s side to follow strict safety guidelines as it may have to pay huge penalties and damages if found violating any safety guidelines. The financial loss deters employees to take something lightly and will motivate and encourage them to follow the safety guidelines.
