You don't have to overdo it. If there are 3 or 4 systems that can somehow be integrated, even partially, that will suffice. You could introduce something new into the systems to complete the integration if necessary too. An example might be a company that has a Web site for taking orders, a separate customer support system, and a separate supply chain management system. These could all be integrated to some extent by sharing customer information and inventory requirements. This is just an example. Think about data that can be shared in a company and where the data might currently exist.
