Three kinds of technology in an organization are:
Unit Technology:
    Some organizations use technology to create unique outputs to suit the individual needs of their
   customers. These organizations use unit technology, which has a low degree of routines to convert
   their inputs into outputs. Unit technology is small-batch production, which is used for custom and made
   to order goods.

Mass Technology:
   Organizations that use technologies with a high degree of routines to manufacture large quantities
   of standardized goods sometimes use mass technology to convert their inputs into outputs.
   Mass technology is large-volume production, which uses repetitive and simplified jobs to produce outputs.

Process Technology

   Some organizations use a non stop process to convert their inputs into outputs. This type of technology
   is known as process technology, which is used to convert raw materials into outputs using a type
   of production known as continuous process. A process technology has a high degree of routines
   since it is a highly automated and predictable process.

Different types of technology create different competencies.
   Performs basic functions of e-mail applications.
    Performs basic calendar operations and task management.
    Understands and uses basic computer hardware and peripherals.
   Understands and performs basic operating system functions.
   Understands and performs basic functions and tasks of common software programs.
    Performs basic printing operations from common applications.
    Demonstrates a general understanding of all the technologies utilized by the library:
   e.g. catalogue, website, social media etc.
  
Technology impacts organizational culture:
   The technology needs of a small company exist in an almost constant state of flux, adapting
   and changing based on business demands and advancements in the industry.
   Almost every business relies on technology for day-to-day operations, from the decision of a
   solo entrepreneur to purchase a new laptop to a growing company's roll out of time-management software.
   in terms of Significance, Structure, Operations and costs.

Technology can help organizational effectiveness:
  
   Computers and technology allow for faster processing of data, easier retrieval of information,
   and in some cases – automation can reduce or replace physical employees.
   When people perform tasks by hand, it can be time consuming and full of human errors.
   When technology is used for repetitive operations, mistakes are reduced or eliminated,
   and the time it takes to complete the task is greatly reduced.

    Technological developments have increased the ease and speed of international communication and travel.
    Increased communication and travel have made the world smaller.
    A smaller world means that people are more aware of events outside of their home country, and are more likely to travel to other countries.
    Increased awareness and travel result in a better understanding of foreign opportunities.
    A better understanding of opportunities leads to increases in international trade and investment, and the number of businesses operating across national borders.
    These increases mean that the economies around the world are more closely integrated.
