Personal files and settings apply are still saved in serve drives and it is is best feature that we find using windows operating system. So both the statetements (a) & (b) holds for this case.
It stores the previously saved settings in data folders redirected to serve drives, when we install new windows.
It is important feature, and it saves a lot of time. So folder redirection will divide into user data and profile data. So profile data is used by us to serve drives. It redirects local drive to central location, so that it gives immediate access when users use it.

Normally user stores data into drives (more videos and music ) causes running out of memory. So before sharing we can adjust permissions so that they can access to particular files only.. remaining space in drive is not allowed to use by ithers. To do this place all videos and music into one folder and change settings permissions to read and write and uncheck all others permissions in "foder>right click>properties" tab. Then share the folder. In this we can configure using group policy.
