Facebook has its headquarters located in Menlo Park, California. All the above resources play the biggest part in the growth of Facebook. Facebook multiplies through network effect.
An example of focused content portal will be a job search site. The job search site will carry content related to jobs and the requirements for a candidate to be eligible for the same.
